We have booked two performances for this year’s Opry, on Saturday, October 24, 2009 - matinee and evening performances.  We are planning on a similar blend of format for this year’s show - a blend of music and comedy; from old to new; from cowboy to bluegrass; to comedy and drama.  Again, we’ll have something for everyone!  

We're a cast of volunteers that present a celebration of classic country entertainment.  The Opry is a fun filled show highlighting local talent and contributes to a local, non-profit society.  Our proceeds are donated to the Asante Centre for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.  

The Asante Centre is recognized for their leadership regarding the issues of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).  Their vision is to create compassionate and knowledgeable communities that work together to prevent FASD and to support persons and families affected by FASD to reach their full potential.  The Centre provides many services, including: FASD diagnostic and assessment services, coordinated care plans, family support & consultation services, educational workshops & training, community networking, prevention initiatives & research.  Research demonstrates that the earlier children are diagnosed with FASD, the more likely they will lead fulfilling lives.

Each year the Opry sells between 600-1000 tickets, but due to the costs of advertising, equipment rental, technical support, theatre costs, programs and dinner for our volunteer cast between the matinee and evening shows, the Opry has a difficult time breaking even.

We're requesting your assistance to help offset the expenses incurred in producing the Opry in order that the proceeds of the ticket sales are given to the Asante Centre.  Your generous donation will be greatly appreciated by the many people involved in this endeavor.  Additionally, your business will be highlighted in both shows by our talented and funny MC's; recognized in the program that is given to every ticket holder; in the Opry ads in both the local papers - Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows NEWS and the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows TIMES as well as web-site recognition.
